The Three B.I.G. Sins

The world is a fucked up place kids. It is, at the core, a chaotic storm of misinformation and sexual frustration, compacted into microbial units that invade like a virus and warp the environment around people more than Al Gore could ever hope to. One of the top listed reasons for my general hatred of the human race is that everyone has their own personal set of rules and taboos. Some of them even have their own personal sets of chopsticks even though they rarely eat Asian food, and that is a crime in and of itself... Anyways, I feel that too many people are close-minded to the fact that they can't expect everyone else to follow their rules. Unfortunately many of these personal rules have made it into the public as taboos, and worse, as laws. Although many of the ten commandments aren't actual laws, religion does hold a large influence over what stays and what goes. Abortion gets a lot of attention this way. As does homosexuality. And sometimes a little bit with the marijuana. Now, before you think this post is just me judging all these poor cowardly people, let me assure you that I am making a point. Although I can't help myself sometimes. What I've prepared to hash out on the draft page for you tonight is the three great sins. Or as I call them, the three BIG sins. All crimes and behaviors can be traced back to these three character flaws, and before I state them, I should indeed say that everyone is equally guilty on all counts. These things happen because it is nature to do these things, although not necessary nor correct by any means.

Numbah One: Boredom. You see? Everyone's guilty of this one. As a kid, and certainly an adult, this sin is often associated with whining and restlessness. Sometimes parading around the house just to let everyone else know how you're feeling. You know it well, for boredom invades in the times when you should be doing something and you want to be doing something else. There really isn't an excuse for this kind of apathy, because in today's world, information is at the fingertips. You could be doing something you haven't done for every second of your life and still have more to do than you've done upon your death! For all the things you haven't learned, why not indulge your inner curiosity? Have you learned to juggle yet? How about a new language? Maybe pick up a book on carpentry. Try clearing your chakras or para sailing. How many times in your adult life have you colored with crayons? Oh, hey, go learn how many species of birds there are. Why not buy a train model? There really isn't a reason to be bored. Do not, however, confuse boredom with sloth, one of the deadly sins that earns you a spot in hell. Sloth is an entire mindset away from boredom, and usually it can be pinned on poor mental health, often uncontrollable by the lazy fuck. And although work ethic is a strong value in today's society, doing nothing, isn't always unhealthy for you. How many times have you sat and cleared your head? Seriously, defrag a little bit. Get over a character flaw or let your brain take a few hours off. Sleep doesn't count. Sitting and doing nothing externally is a long standing tradition of many many religions!

Numbah Two: Ignorance. Ignorance is the next BIG sin on my list because it hurts people. Ignorance, in my opinion is cowardly. Again, with information at the fingertips, there's really no reason for this kind of idiocy to occur. People don't seem to grasp in all sorts of debates, whether it be from political to medical to religious, that there is always more to know. All facts can be checked, ( a new and riveting feature of the internet unbeknownst to quite a few top notch arguers!) and therefore no information should be wrong. Unfortunately you do have folks who couple ignorance with selective apathy. People who ignore information that is not relevant to their opinion. Luckily, this BIG sin goes hand in hand with number one. Boredom and Ignorance can cure each other! When reaching for the cure to one, you often alleviate the other! This is why I proactively read books and articles on anything that peaks my interest, whether it is gone the next day or not. Do I still pick up my books on origami? Fuck no, but it served a useful purpose at the time, and if saving the world ever involves making a paper swan, I am your savior. Also, the best way to fight ignorance is to not be ignorant. The more you know, the more you can educate your friends, family, coworkers, or any other self-righteous fact-basher that comes along. Of course, there's no way to actually force them to apply whatever it is to their database, but it's worth a shot.

Numbah Three: Greed. Greed is easily the most committed and most hurtful of the three BIG sins. Greed doesn't just hurt your head like ignorance does; Greed can affect millions. Take the United Corporations of America for example. Or better yet, Bernie Madoff... Now Greed is a driving force in nature, to actively stockpile food and valuables, but in today's world, people should be a little more evolved and learn to subdue these kinds of community-draining animal behaviors. I understand the needs of a household and a family, but Lamborghinis and Malibu 8-bedroom mansions are just plain greedy. Yes, I'd like to have nice things, but a little bit goes a long way. 200k will net you a fine home and a stunning vehicle, and there are plenty of other deserving people. On a patriotic scale, and even a global scale, greed prolongs the suffering of billions. Why the fuck did we go back into space when half the world is starving to death? Why the fuck do we pay millions of continuous tax dollars and we don't have a cure for AIDs or Cancer yet? (There's no money in a cure, only in the treatment.) Greed killed JFK. Greed is why more than half of all homeless are war veterans. Greed still tricks money out of good people in the name of religion. Greed drives most, if not all, of our political campaigns with hordes of dirty money. Greed forces us into unwinnable wars in the desert because someone killed the electric car.... Coupled with apathy, Greed can cause devastation on a scale that beats human progression's legs out from under it. In fact, any character flaw coupled with Greed can cause any number of inappropriate and mind-bending behavioral misfirings. Ultimately, Greed is the only sin I cannot empathize with. Sure I've take a snickers bar here or kept an extra dollar there, but that's selfishness. Greed is the consuming need to dominate through anything other than physical strength, plus the lust for things you don't rightly deserve.

All three of these BIG sins can be told as the cause as any number of other sins. Murders, thefts, rapes, etc. all must have motive. You can't always punish a man for his crimes unless you know why he did it! Of course, none of these behaviors will draw to an extinction as long as mankind still lives, but we can dream. Utopian societies are often what drift through my mind when I sit and do nothing, and I have bad news. Most of them are communist. Zing.

Sexting: A Poem for the Mood

It begins as subtle aching.
fingers scuttle, raking.
moist mouths salivate,
when kisses don't quite sate.
touch alone can drive
every nerve alive,
to shocking taste
with mocking haste,
and rocking motions thrive.
who ever knew that clothes
could be such brutal foes
when everything is shaking
anticipation breaking
At last then, we're there,
when everything is bare.
inwardly we grin
hearts dancing to begin
hateful muscles tremble
lust and blood assemble
there's an underlying moment
where complying is too cogent
savagely we fall
into natures call
all hips and lips and breasts
those tips and grips and crests
in simple innuendo
just to watch crescendo
gripping thighs and grasping skin
stifling cries in gasping sin
then your stormy eyes roll
and threaten all control
I let all hold buck free,
when you whisper "fuck me".
